hello jess, i was wondering if you had some time, maybe you could help me? i'm a little bit new to this, and people are mentioning scapegoats in passing and such, and i was wondering what those were? i've tried to find a definition myself, but nothing's come up. if you have a mo, a little help would be really great, and if not, could you please point me toward somewhere i can get my question answered? thanks
In short, a scapegoat is something that you use to direct some sort of punishment or sin or curse or what have you away from you and to something else. It usually involves bits of you, like drops of blood or hair, and a smack of your own energy, to attract the curse/etc. away from you and toward the thing that it "thinks" is you.
I love scapegoats! Typically mine are made of thin clay with things of mine on the inside. If it breaks, then I know it's absorbed a curse. There's lots of other cool things that you can do too with scapegoats--they're a really diverse and useful medium!
