Being a fan of a morally grey character is frustrating because people will try to reduce them to either being an innocent little angel or a completely heartless monster and both of these interpretations just take away what makes the character interesting

my take on nightmare's design i really like Spawn (Image) so i thought "hey why not combine these two completely unrelated things together?", spawn's design is super edgy and angular, i thought it would fit nightmare i'm not very well-read on dreamtale, so i'm not sure how important nightmare's tentacles are, but it would be really cool if they were chains that he can control and move (...maybe also to control others? like in csm) close ups:

he has a cardigan tucked into his pants. i'm not sure about the pants though, i'll probably change them later. i just wanted to give the impression that everything he's wearing is "heavy". anyway this was super fun to draw. i doubt thee, "SPAWNMARE" hahaha i love being cringe
