Day 16 of Advent and Dressember, Susan is once wearing her Title Nine blue dress and blue tights #youcandoanythinginadress as she drops off books 📚 to donate to this festive neighborhood Little Lending Library. Donating books to your public library or these little lending libraries is a way of doing good. (Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that promotes neighborhood book exchanges, usually in the form of a public bookcase). Susan’s been listening to “The Water Dancer” by Coates, a book set during the years of the underground railroad 🚆. The book helps one understand the personal impact of slavery. How do you do good? One way Susan shows up in the world is through this little Lending Library 📚. Her enthusiasm for this project was contagious. She shared simple plans for the construction with her friend in her quilt group. Shortly afterwards a skeleton of it showed up at her house. Her friends from @flipjackranch donated materials for the roof. Her husband helped her complete the construction and install it at @highergrounds.bonnydoon for the community to share. This Tuesday, Susan will be leading the first of a FREE 6 week course to help you prepare for Giving Tuesday. The first week is focused on how you give now. My brother Jacob is a mechanical engineer. He showed us this telephone booth that he helped reimagine as a little lending library. He did all of the metal work inside through the help of computers and fancy killing machines.
