No Fun | [Ash & Mimi | EVENT]

As excited as Ash had been to participate in one of the Goldenrod Radio Tower’s iconic seasonal events, somehow... the real thing was less fun than she was expecting.  It wasn’t the event exactly; the DJs had a great idea with letting people go camping in Unova’s Lostlorn Forest, but... well... the partner system wasn’t great, exactly.  She and her partner-- Mimi-- had gotten off on the wrong foot, it feels.  But maybe they just needed to spend more time together, that’s all.  She was optimistic about it!  For now!

But then they find themselves arguing about everything despite best efforts to stay cordial; what direction to head in, where to put camp, what to do first, so on and so forth.  Ash was trying her best to stay calm, but... she knows she can be an awfully petty young lady when the moods strikes her.  The more things don’t go her way, the worse this gets and the more unwilling she becomes to work with people-- and she can feel it heading that way already.

After some brief time away to scout out the general surroundings of their camp, the two return to their camp, only to find-- no!  It’s been ransacked by somebody!  Ash dashes over to the tent, where she kept her bag, and find it’s missing, too.  Why?  She’s almost in tears by the time she speaks up to Mimi.

“No way... why does this have to happen to us now?” Ash whines.  “I mean, the thieves couldn’t have gone far, right--?  We might need to just track them down!  I know Meowth and Minccino could probably take the idiots that took this stuff!”

She’s so stuck in the horror of her stuff being missing that she doesn’t even notice the Premier Ball and note sitting nicely on a tree stump in plain sight.

Perhaps Red looked strange, sitting in a tree with Pikachu on their shoulder, scribbling in their notebook while watching a group of Foongus scatter spores. But Red didn’t care what others thought of their research habits. Naturally, Red kept their distance from the Foongus, not wanting to breathe in the spores. But there was something strange about this occurrence that made Red raise an eyebrow.

The group of Foongus seemed to be intimidating the wild Pokémon nearby. It was very rare that Foongus acted territorial, normally they would just hop around whenever they got startled. But the group seemed to be overly defensive for some reason, and Red wasn’t sure exactly why

Suddenly, Red heard a roar from in the distance, causing both them and Pikachu to fall out of the tree and right into a bush. The roar scared the Foongus, too- they continued to release even more spores. Red and Pikachu scrambled out of the bush, attracting a bit of attention from another trainer nearby as another roar sounded, this time louder than before. “Pika-pikaaa!” the electric-type called out as if to warn others, clinging to Red’s shoulder as the spore cloud got thicker and the roars got louder. The ground started to shake, as well- what kind of Pokémon was approaching?

The bustling streets of Castelia City were nothing like any town Lillie had visited before. It was certainly more crowded than anywhere in Alola, and felt more chaotic than the cities in Kanto, but perhaps her unfamiliarity with the region just made it seem that way.

She had stepped into the library seeking a moment of peace and quiet, but the billboard plastered with advertisements ranging from guitar lessons to exclusive Pokemon battling clubs gave her an idea.

“Excuse me?” she asked, approaching a girl about her age behind the librarian’s desk. “Is it alright if I hang up a few fliers for the Aether Foundation Fundraising Gala here?”

Technically, she was supposed to be handing out the fliers to pedestrians as they passed by, but watching several people throw them in the trash immediately after receiving them was discouraging. At least more people would have the chance see them posted in a public place than sitting at the bottom of a garbage can.

Missing Link

“So, this is the legendary statue. Doesn't seem so grand as I thought. Why is it all like it has been untouched for eons?”, Zinnia thought to herself standing in front of the Dialga statue in Eterna City. She heard from someone in Mossdeep that the Sinnoh region has a shared connection to Hoenn in the form of the regis. She traveled all that distance herself to see if this is true. She hoped so but even had her doubts.  “Why of all places, Sinnoh, is where the creation pokemon reside along with regigigas?” It didn’t make sense to her. Just below her, Aster let out a cry to signal he needed something. “What is it?”

Just then, Aster pointed his ears towards the woman.

a matter of trust 👑 mimi & iris

Trust was the main ingredient, one could say, in the way Iris trained her dragons. Some of her team, she’d raised them from hatchlings, while others came along in their progressive years. Gaining a Pokemon’s trust was vital to the process. Iris was relatively pro at it now, but she wouldn’t go so far as to let that thought go to her head - after all, it was her Charizard who remained painfully resilient in this situation, bringing doubt to everything she thought she’d known about training Pokemon.

She thought maybe a change of scenery might encourage him to come out of his shell a little bit, and so outside of the perimeters of Opelucid City she took him. It was a quiet evening, and she thought it would be the perfect setting to try and light the fire within him, so to speak.

The creature had been brought out of his Pokeball, and that was about as far as she’d gotten. He’d somehow managed to scale a tree, and the Champion stood at the base of it, arms resting on her hips, yelling up at him.

"It's not very cool to call yourself cool."

“Oh yeah?  Says who?”  The indignance is clear in Ash’s tone, eyes narrowed towards the other girl.  “If you’re cool, then you just know it.  What’s the harm in admitting it?”  Jeez… who knew she’d attract the jealous types already.  And she’s not even a training expert yet.  Looks like she’ll just have to work harder to prove how cool she really is to all the naysayers.

Voices in my head, you mean the ones that tell me to ignore others and just let myself go into the darknes.... I’m joking. We all have voices. Mine tend to be more critical as I am harsh on myself when it comes to music. Though when instincts are in play they are all I trust.
