an eye roll as he sips his champagne, for such dislike of him and the accident of his birth - she certainly does seem to find reasons to approach him. a wide berth usually given to aelin, not out of dislike, but for her own discomfort. while he may be the black sheep of his corrupt family, he is not unaware that the lineage he bears makes many uncomfortable.

the piercing eyes and dark hair that so perfectly mirror his fathers, the only thing he inherits from his mother is the higher cheekbones and wider jaw. his father more hawkish in his appearance, drawn and hollowed out. dorian often thinks to himself that had he not given his soul away he'd look better, but he keeps that thought to himself. usually. chaol's heard it ceaselessly.

his voice a teasing drawl as he watches her from the corner of his eye, kaltain rompier angling towards him, her dark gaze hungry as he avoids meeting that glance only by spinning to face aelin. the glass he's held so delicately is drained and sit on a passing tray.

his mother had chosen kaltain as an appropriate bride, but there was not one part of dorian, no matter his womanising reputation that craved to fulfill those desires for his mother, or kaltain.

BIG YES. He loves when his partner dresses up for him. His own little gift he gets to unwrap. Lace and ribbon are his favourite. The confidence it takes for them to come out with the little show of the outfit. WEAR HIS SHIRTS PLS. Also big fan of knee high socks.

He would never ask for some but if his partner sent him some nudes he wouldn't complain. Erwin would happily send nudes of himself to his partner if it was what they liked. He's done it in public before. It's not his favourite. He prefers the intimacy of sex. Taking his time, talking, enjoying the lead up. He's not big on just smashing each other in the closet. But every once in a while he's not against it. A trip to the barn, in the long grass of a field, covered with dense trees... you get the picture.

Silence. The stars shine overhead, the darkness of the night thick and even in such a cloudless night, it seemed to cover the world in a heaviness that not even the moon's light seemed capable of piercing.

Aelin's confession just hangs there between them, in that silence. And maybe it's because a part of Rowan understands those words on a level that he doesn't quite want to outwardly admit--maybe a part of him doesn't even truly realize how much he truly connects with them.

They hit at the core of him, in a way absolutely nothing Aelin has ever said ever has. It's as if she's seen into the very center of his essence, pulled it out, and cast it into the light. As if she's seen every part of him and put it to words in that description.

And she's not even talking about him--but herself.

Wordlessly, Rowan hands over the bottle that he'd just taken a long, steady swig from, having let the alcohol burn its way down his throat, before he almost silently mutters,

Danika doesn't even hesitate before the weapon is in her hand, pulled from the holster at her hip. She does, however, hesitate when it's half held out to Bryce, a tilt of her head as she looks at her best friend.
