My Fish in the Lion’s Jaws verse. One where Ned is believed dead, but in fact was smuggled away, but when he finally makes his return it’s AFTER the Red Wedding (but Cat survives this), he hears of all this tragedy, but it only gets worse, for he finds when he finally reaches Catelyn, that they have married her off to Tywin, something done on the agreement that the marriage between Tyrion and Sansa was annulled. Just Cat is in a place of power to be able to absolve him of his supposed crime, but to do that she must remain married to Tywin, so she can’t join Ned in his freedom.
Randomly, something in my Buffy verse where Ned and Cat were Watchers, but Ned was killed by a demon two years ago. Cat is going secretly vigilante with finding demons, determined to find the one who killed him, but it would be cool if Rickon was aged up a bit (or if we made it canon because Catelyn in his her late 40s in this verse so he could legit be 13/14) and he’s the one who wants to join her the most, but she always refused him, but when he gets caught in near-danger, she realises he has to be trained up regardless.
