After getting the suggestion from a friend weeks ago, Hyolyn couldn’t get the idea out of her head for very long. He had brought up an itch that just needed to be scratched, one that the vampire had thought long gone. 

She had been a performer for countless years, whether it had been at her own establishment, or most recently, the clubs around Seoul. It was important to keep social, what with her rather unique diet, but that wasn’t the main reason why she liked being up on stage.

If anyone knew Hyolyn, they knew how much she liked the attention, especially when it came to recognising her talents. Her voice, unsurprisingly, was the talent she thought stood out most of all, and she loved showing it off. There was just something about having every eye on her, all listening and appreciating her talent. She missed it. It was time to start up again and move away from simply singing the songs she wrote while alone in her bedroom.

She had made friends with the owner of the pub easily. It was another skillset she had. She could charm anyone into doing what she asked without needing to give much in return. She might have only gotten a thirty-minute slot, but it would do for now. It wasn’t like she had wanted to go all out. She would have gone to one of the clubs scattered around the village if that was so. For now, she was happy to simply sit on the tiny stage and perform songs that were a little less strenuous on the ears.

She had perched herself on the stool set out for her, one leg extended slightly thanks to her habit of needing to be in an awkward position to really get comfortable.

Her first song wasn’t exactly the most uplifting, but it was a small bar and she didn’t want to disturb those trying to relax with music that was too upbeat, so instead, she decided to pick out songs that would show her off instead.

It seemed to work, for the most part. She could see a few taking interest, either by looking over, or simply taking the time to slow down and listen, even if the song itself wasn’t one that would cheer anyone up.
