i think zyz disappeared that night on kunlun mountain after the malicious energy took him over and they all found out what happened eight years ago in part because he hadn't known that he killed zhao wan'er!!!! he needed time to begin assimilating that information as much as he needed time to wrangle the guilt and the shame of that day and of the past and of being Seen and to decide if/how to go on with the team. i think he thought that li lun killed her just like wen xiao thought!!!! which explains why he never visited li lun and was so cruel to him upon them coming back into contact (in addition to how i think he was trying to keep li lun alive by pushing him away). like zyz can forgive a lot but one person he loves most in the world killing the other person he loves most in the world would be past his forebearance i think!!!
