It’s so important to me to create a space where the emotional environment is joyful and fun, yet is still primarily one that my family and friends will be willing to sit still and listen. A little cozy space to gather and eat, and have shelter, but mainly to spend more time outdoors exploring! Taking the time to slow down, relax, and be in the here and now. Less is best. One thing Demi has always said is “add some color to your life” not necessarily to me, but to people who seemed to be afraid of color. So when I personally see colors, it brings me joy. With having raised four children of my own, and often a friend or two and lots of neighborhood kids as well as nieces & nephews my home was always larger, fast, noisy, busy, rowdy, and always full. That was exactly the way I wanted it. But #dollymiranda will be a bit different. I originally bought her to redo and sell, but now that I’ve spent the time working on her, my heart is telling me something different. In this life I think we all fall into routines out of default, or because it seems like the right thing to do.. it’s the American dream, right? Or is it? I’ve been struggling with unwanted feelings this past week that have my thoughts and emotions causing me so much internal conflict. I think it’s because I’ve had lots of time to quiet down and listen to that quiet little voice within me. That voice that speaks to me from a place of wisdom and common sense. It’s telling me to live from my heart. To live my life, and not everyone else’s (that ugly habit we get into because we think it’s the right thing to do) I can’t keep fighting with the deeper emotions that my heart is telling me, if i do I will only become frustrated and stressed.
