Experimental Music
Wikipedia describes experimental music as a compositional tradition that arose in the mid-20th century, particularly in North America, of music composed in such a way that its outcome is unforeseeable. Which i do agree with, but experimental music has taken a whole new turn with the technology available, it is so easily to manipulate sounds compared to how hard it use to be. John Cage is deemed as one of the most respectable artists within this genre with his most famous piece being 4 minutes of silence cause controversy as to whether to even call it music.
Everyday new artists are becoming more and more unique and experimental, CocoRosie being one, with the mixture of Bjork like vocals and opera, with harp, clarinet, synth, beat-box, and the use of children's toys.
