Made that fancy dirt ball! Attempt 1 had pits and didn't get as shiny. I did not research enough. Attempt 2 will hopefully show improvement!
I didn't have any dry dirt ready for sprinkling so I tried using eyeshadow. It's mostly pigment powder, right?

Edit: I have since learned that this is a locust? And that locust are grasshoppers but not all grasshoppers are locust?!
So, I dug out my old pokewalker and decided it needed a protective cover. Checked online-
NOT DOING THAT.
So. My next best bet would be to diy something. And one quick youtube rabbit hole later I've made two attempts.
First attempt- silicone mixed with corn starch. Might have used too much starch? Ugly, too fragile.
The second attempt was the same but I tried adding Glitter. It did not go as I'd hoped, but is sturdier and fits better. Still not pretty but mostly functional to prevent further scratches while still being playable. Might try again later on (with better ventilation) but if anyone out there has any other suggestions or ideas please send them my way
