Playing BDSP for the first time and I’m really enjoying reconnecting with my roots.

One of the funniest memes i've seen in the Pokémon community is when BDSP came out, people were saying they were "gonna try a new team" only to use the most bog-sandard Sinnoh team, and when SV released the year after, they remade the meme but they just replaced Infernape with Skeledirge cause you could easily catch the other 5 in Paldea 😭

Been thinking about this for a while and that is that do you think Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl would've gotten less hate had they completely focused on the Platinum storyline than the OG D/P storyline?

Like don't get me wrong it WOULD still be incredibly lazy and disappointing if they copy pasted that game's code and didn't redesign the characters or make any real changes to the story that actually makes it feel like a remake like the previous ones, but since we all pretty much agree that Platinum is the definitive version of that storyline not to mention it fixed a lot of Diamond and Pearl's problems, somehow I get the feeling that it might've been better received. And yeah I think that I would've liked it a lot more had they done that too.

Cuz the fact that they copy and pasted the code of the OG Diamond and Pearl to the extent that it didn't even include Platinum's major improvements from them was indeed very annoying and unbelievable and just a huge bummer all around as we all know at this point lmao.
