The Liver: organ, referred pain, associated muscles, meridian and fascia (so much in this image!) A requested series of exploring organs from @chillgoose who just happened to see this referral pattern on a hockey player recently that “came up atraumatically.” Occasionally hepatic enlargement causes diaphragmatic irritation, which produces pain that is referred to the ipsilateral Supra clavicular and shoulder region. This referral is known as Kehr’s Sign and is transmitted via the phrenic nerve and is often misdiagnosed. I’ve seen versions of this in clinic as well when looking at right shoulder pain, even in my deep tissue massage days (lifetime ago). I was aware enough to put some stories together about alcohol consumption and digestion to refer out. #liverpain #viscera #visceral #visceralmanipulation #diaphragm #breathing #breathe #breath #tcm #livermeridian #kehrssign #painrelief #painreferral #visceralreferredpain #adaptablepolarity #Anatomy #humananatomy #anatomyart #anatomydrawing #energeticanatomy #appliedkinesiology #itsallconnected https://www.instagram.com/p/CkaoBOyrqEf/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
