 blood   mingled   with   the   rain   that   was   currently   pouring   against   his   body.   clothes   were   soaked   through,   body   shivering   against   the   cold   and   the   pain.   how   he   had   made   it   here,   he   would   never   truly   know,   but   the   fact   that   he   had   was   all   that   mattered.   one   hand   pressed   heavily   against   his   ribs,   grimacing   as   he   made   his   way   up   to   the   door,   free   hand   knocking   a   few   times   before   leaning     against   the   wall   beside   it.   he’d   only   been   here   once,   maybe   twice,   to   drop   lou   off   after   a   few   drinks   too   many,   however   it   was   the   closest   place   he   knew   of   where   he   could   be   safe   for   a   few   hours.   he’d   checked   and   triple   checked   that   he   wasn’t   being   followed   before   coming   here,   never   would   he   risk   her   safety.   as   the   door   opens,   his   lips   part   though   no   words   would   come   to   his   mind.   he   hadn’t   thought   about   how   exactly   he   would   explain   this   situation   to   her,   only   that   he   needed   a   safe   place   to   crash   for   a   few   hours.   a   moment   of   silence   stretches   between   them,   brows   pulling   together   as   his   gaze   found   the   floor.   “   i’m  --  i’m   sorry.   i   didn’t   know   where   else   to   go.   ”

   ❛ -       No, no no no... ❜  Carry-on bag along, the artist comes running to the gate panting from the exercise ( see, he is not  the working out much type ); there are no more people waiting and the plane taking off in the distance by the sight through the window... Well, it is probably his.       ❛ Dang it! ❜ Scott groans letting go of his bag, brows furrowing instantly. Guess visiting his family had to wait a little longer at least for the next flight. Ah! He needs a drink. The airport bar seems like a haven as he takes a seat at the nearest table, elbows on the surface, chin  on his palms, frowning ensues. After getting everything sorted out there is nothing else to do but wait after all.   ❛ Is this what Tom Hanks felt like in The Terminal ? ❜

 pain   consumed   him.   time   meant   nothing   to   him   the   moment   the   intruder   left   him   here   to   die.   he   couldn’t   remember   if   it   had   been   hours   or   days   of   his   hands   being   bound   tightly   to   the   chair   behind   him.   the   gag   hung   loose   around   his   neck   after   having   managed   to   spit   it   out,   lips   dry   and   cracked   from   dehydration.  

 they’d   wanted   answers.   he   didn’t   know   how   they   had   gotten   in,   but   they   had.   his   flat   had   been   torn   apart   in   the   search   for   any   shred   of   information   he   might   have   left   laying   around.   but   they   knew   he   was   better   than   that.    they’d   waited   for   him,   ambushed   him   as   soon   as   his   feet   were   across   the   threshold.   they   knew   his   skill   set,   knew   how   dangerous   he   was.   that   was   why   they   had   brought   practically   an   army   into   his   own   home.   he’d   fought   as   hard   as   he   could   for   his   freedom,   taking   more   than   his   fair   share   of   men   down   before   they   had    him   pinned.   

 torture   was   never   fun.   less   so   when   those   administering   it   relished   in   seeing   any   sign   of   your   pain.   though   he   would   never   crack   beneath   their   hands,  would   never   give   up   any   of   the   information   that   he   had   gained   from   his   various   employers,   he   was   only   human.   there   were   times   where   he   could   not   stop   the   pain   from   twisting   his   features.   beaten   until   he   could   barely   breathe,   metal   blades   piercing   his   skin   in   places   that   they   knew   would   hurt,   but   would   not   be   FATAL.   

 hours   of   this   passed,   until   they   finally   realised   that   he   would   sooner   die   than   betray   the   secrets   he   had   been   given,   but   they   would   not   give   him   that   release.   no   they   knew   that   he   would   not   be   found   here,   knew   that   almost   no   one   knew   his   address   and   fewer   still   would   care   enough   to   check   up   on   him.   a   sadistic   smile   was   the   last   thing   he   saw   of   his   attackers   as   they   left   him   bloody   and   bruised   in   the   middle   of   his   kitchen   floor.

 struggling   against   his   bonds   was   useless   in   his   weakened   state,   resigned   now   to   the   fact   that   he   would   likely   die   here   where   no   one   would   find   him   for   weeks.   no   one   would   know   of   the   pain   he   had   endured   to   protect   those   that   cared   little   about   him.   that   was   when   he   heard   the   rattle   of   the   front   door   handle.   he   knew   that   the   people   that   had   attacked   him   would   not   have   bothered   to   lock   the   door.   his   heart   raced   as   he   thought   about   who   could   possibly   have   found   him   here --   perhaps   they   had   come   back   to   truly   finish   the   job.   but   then   he   heard   her   voice.   louisa.   if   he   was   more   coherent,   he   would   have   cursed.   “  m ’ sorry.  ”   he   managed,   blinking   slowly   as   she   came   into   his   vision.   “   you   shouldn’t  --   you   shouldn’t   be   here.   ”

𝐎𝐍𝐄, 𝐓𝐖𝐎, 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄, 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐑? 𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐑. it isn’t enough to get john drunk, he had drank worse than just four pints but it seems, it’ enough to settle the little one before him into some mood. happy, excited, which is good, because he thinks she needs to loosen up. maybe too much. he takes hold of her arm, a hand on her elbow as he keeps her steady close to him.

“that would be enough for you today, luv. how ‘bout I take you to bed, eh? and he doesn’t mean it in that sense. but boldness seems to sweep from her and he is being dragged by his tie down, lips finding lips as he taste the beer on her. it’s sweet but long, lingering, and not unpleasant. causing the magician to blink a couple of times, as he holds her, stopping her from falling.

headcanon  +  love.  @liveswell​  

 floyd   has   a   difficult   relationship   with   love.   growing   up   only   knowing   the   love   of   his   mother,   and   then   to   have   that   taken   away   so   suddenly  --  never   truly   knowing   what   happened.  it   leaves   a   certain   void   inside   you.   this   is   a   void   that   is   present   in   floyd   even   now.   he   does   not   allow   himself   to   love,   believing   it   to   be   the   most   dangerous   emotion   for   a   spy   to   succumb   to.   if   you   love   someone,   it   means   that   they   could   be   used   as   leverage   against   you.   they   could   become   a   bargaining   chip   to   force   you   into   doing   unspeakable   things.   he   had   seen   it   so   many   times   within   his   career.  

 but   of   course,   he   is   only   human.   and   love   is   an   emotion   that   will   not   be   denied.   so,   when   floyd   loves,   it   is   a   slow   fall.   he   will   constantly   try   to   deny   himself   it,   believing   he   does   not   want   nor   deserve   to   feel   it. 

 he   is   a   hard   person   to   love   too.   he   is   cautious   and   withdrawn,   going   years   without   truly   connecting   to   another.   some   days   he   can   be   the   most   romantic   man   you   have  ever   met,   showering   the   source   of   his   affection   with   sweet   words   and   gentle   touches.   and   the   next   day   he   could   be   distant   and   subdued.   

 but   when   he   allows   himself   to   love,   he   loves   hard.   because   it   is   unlikely   that   the   love   will   last,   and   so   he   wants   to   relish   in   it   as   much   as   possible.

 here   is   a   small   section   of   a   previous   headcanon   that   is   relevant   to   this   one: 

 love   also   manifests   in   his   hands.   he’ll   reach   for   their   hand,   he’ll   squeeze   their   fingers   to   make   sure   they   know   he   is   there   for   them.   hands   are   important   to     him.   they   hold   strength   and   power.   and   so   he   will   take   their   hand   and   kiss     each   knuckle,   he’ll   press   kisses   to   their   palm,   wrist.   if   he   truly   cares   for     someone,   they   will  see   it   both   in   his   hands   and   in   how   he   constantly   needs   to   touch  theirs.

 the   smile   that   touches   his   lips   cannot   be   helped,   she   was   so   different   to   anyone   he   had   ever   met.   always   looking   for   the   good   in   life,   despite   whatever   bad   things   it   may   throw   at   her.   to   be   that   full   of   life,   of   potential.   he   couldn’t   remember   the   last   time   he   had   even   paid   attention   to   the   constellations   shining   above   him   and   yet   somehow   she   had   convinced   him   to   drive   them   to   a   secluded   spot,   high   up   enough   that   the   fog   from   the   towns   below   them   did   not   restrict   their   view   of   the   brightest   stars.   though   he   couldn’t   help   but   think   that   the   only   star   that   mattered   was   sat   beside   him   on   the   hood   of   his   car.   as   she   looked   up   and   pointed   at   the   star   that   shot   across   their   sky,  he   looked   across   to   her.   “   i   don’t   think   anything   i   could   wish   for   would   come   close   to   this   moment.   ”

she bustles around, a card in one hand & a small, perfectly wrapped gift in the other --- & a bottle of whiskey in the other. it's possibly the most boring present she's ever made but what can she get john constantine that won't sit on a shelf forever? so she bought him a tie; black with rubber ducks on because honestly? she thinks it would be hilarious to see him in it. finally he opens the door & she grins up at him. "happy birthday!!"
