Currently reading: I am currently reading 4 books right now but clearly not getting very far with them: a deadly education by naomi novik, the night manager by john le carre, tale of the body thief by anne rice (this one is testing me), our share of night by mariana enriquez

Currently working on: editing my messy bandmates original fiction and considering how serious I am about self-pub, my dark academia/sff original fiction that I've rewritten 233474 times and yet am convinced THIS time is the one, and I have a few ideas for HR/hudcon fics floating around (epilogue to open season/private school au/rival interns au for hollanov; last part of 'friends maybe not' series/ch 2 of 'I bite my lip/maybe a longer AU or maybe just original fiction from the start about former bff costars reuniting years down the line for hudcon)

Tea or coffee: I live off my cold brew but I will have the occasional cup of loose leaf tea, the té des alizées from palais des tés is incredible and every time I go to Europe I fill my suitcase with it

Phone wallpaper: the sea (but I have the hudconcois oscars afterparty as my home screen background bc I am too cowardly to make it the lockscreen lol)

the last book I read: red rising by pierce brown. not reaaallly my thing. but I gave it the ol college try as so many of my friends love the series. 3.5 / 5 for me

a book I'd recommend: gonna rec one of the most intelligent and thoughtful books I read in the last year (non fiction): challenger by adam higgingbotham. if you want to be disgusted by profit over safety and human lives and the lessons nobody ever learned from those damn o-rings I could not recommend more highly

a book I couldn't put down: I read in memoriam in about twenty-four hours last summer, love love loveeee god the fucking post-bj thumbs up still kills me to this day

a book i've read twice or more: oooh I am not a huge re-reader but I read night watch by terry pratchett every few years, it's probably my favourite book

a book on my tbr: just one???? lmao well maybe the latest addition which I got today from one of my old team members, fruit fly by josh silver

a book i've put down: deep cuts, HATED IT! deep end, ALSO HATED IT! basically do not recommend me a book with the word 'deep' in it traumatises me clearly

book on my wishlist: need to find a copy of the master and margarita in a good french translation

a favorite book from childhood: his dark materials shaped my soul for sure. also, like a true millennial, of course I inhaled Harry Potter like the elixir of life

a non-fiction book that I own: british rail by christian wolmar. SUCH a niche rec but if you want to understand the impact of thatcherism and the railways as social commentary in postwar Britain...seminal book for me

what I'm currently reading: I have 3 in my currently reading that I need to lock into: our share of night, the night manager, and tale of the body thief (which I originally intended to read before s3 of iwtv and, well. time makes fools of us all)

what I'm planning on reading next: god can I even choose I have hundreds of books on my tbr haha. but for non-fiction likely the anarchy (I feel my next weird hyperfixation will be the East India Trading Company) or london falling which looks intriguing. fiction literally too many options to count but the top book on my shelf is the goldfinch and the favourites has been staring at me for moooonths.
