Inktober day 5
This guy is a western fence lizard! We have many of them living nearby. I've come to learn that these are very special lizards. Not only do they help eliminate the ticks in the area, but they are completely immune to lyme disease! Not only that, if a tick bites them, the TICK itself is cured of lyme!
We have a lot of garbage clean up to do on our property. Much of it is old wood piles and sheet metal scraps, which these guys have made their home in. We don't want them to leave, so we designated a spot and made a lizard shrine for them out of that same metal, brick and old wood. It's still a work in progress, but we already have some residents!
Behold Lizard House!
Praise lizard! May they keep us safe from disease and eat our pests. ❤️

MEGS: Went up to Lizard House to visit- but ended up not going in as a kids group was in front. Shopping in town, looked for Overlanders Steakhouse which is quite famous for its Aussie food. Sunbathed and finished Geisha book – found out its not a true story. Still got the apartment to ourselves! Not looking forward to getting up with the birds tomorrow.
