Thought no 2 rereading witch hat atelier
Olruggio is such a good balance to Qifrey. Him calling out Agott during the river rescue in vol. 2 is such strong characterization. It tells us a lot about his views and why he uses magic, especially considering what we've seen to be his specialties.
I also like how he not only gave Agott a bit of a much needed reality check, but the way he kind of orchestrated the situation to be a teaching moment for her. First agreeing with her and taking her to the scene, before flipping her expectations in order for her to realize what hands on experience truly means. I think this setup is what made it more memorable for her, because she was shocked and disappointed it had a lot more of an impact on her and allowed her to remember what he said during a pivotal moment.
He mirrors Qifrey in that they're both good teachers, but while Qifrey is encouraging to keep them curious and motivated, Olruggio as the watchful eye reigns them in to keep them on track and safe, both physically but also mentally. Once again, if you take into account that these are also young kids, who are shown to be energetic and impulsive at times, paired with the almost extreme laws and enforcements of the witch world, it really highlights how important someone like Olruggio is as a teacher/supervisor. And it also gives us some hints as to where his character might go.
