hi lizardstep, barleycloud said you were very interesting. would you like to introduce yourself?
Hello everyone! I’m Lizardstep, it’s nice meeting you! I’m a tortoiseshell like momma, though I’m actually also classic tabby, and I’ve got pretty golden yellow eyes. Oh, my fur is short.
Well, I’ll start by saying I don’t really like heights. I’m pretty solid at swimming. Like lizards, actually; seriously, they can swim! I’m also pretty quick, and I’m a solid huntress even if I’m not close to being the best in the Clan. I like sunning myself. I detest the cold. I try to avoid leaving camp too much in the leafbare. Goodness, the cold is just so distracting, I can barely think! But I’m super active in the warmer days; in fact, sometimes I have trouble relaxing because it’s so warm and I just want to work work work!
I love snacking on insects, especially spiders. I wanted to try snail, but momma told me that snails can make cats sick, and I rather like being healthy so…
As you can tell, some of my behaviour is a conscious attempt to mimic lizard behaviour. They’re my favourite of all animals. They’re just so cute and amazing! Oh, but a lot of it is all me. Hating the cold, not liking heights, being good at swimming and hunting and being pretty quick, those are all me.
My love life! I’ve a wonderful mate. Well, no. Actually I had a mate, but then that didn’t work out, and then I later had another mate, and that did work out!
The mate that didn’t work out was Heathertail. He’s pale grey with white paws, short fur, green eyes. He and I just kept going in different directions as we grew older. Literally sometimes. He loves climbing. Me, not so much. He loves taking on work for the Clan during leafbare. Me, not so much. He believes in tough love. Me, not so much; I’m kind of coddly, actually.
We did have Kits, though, when we were young Warriors. We had three daughters.
The oldest is Pinestorm. She’s a plain blue she-cat with white paws. Her fur is on the darker side of the range. She’s got green eyes like her daddy. She’s quite the flirt, though she also loves helping out during leafbare, just like Heathertail.
The middle daughter is Emberfoot. She’s a pretty tortoiseshell classic tabby, like I am. She’s also quick on her feet and a solid huntress even if she’s not quite at -whisker levels. We get along super well!
The youngest is Mothstorm. She’s also a tortoiseshell classic tabby, but her tabby markings are absolutely stunning. Though she’s quite the flirt. One day she’s happy to have toms trailing after her; the next, she wants nothing to do with them. But she’s very good with the Elders, actually, as long as she doesn’t have a gaggle of toms with her.
But anyway. Heathertail and I split. I got together with Kiteheart pretty soon after. We didn’t have biological Kits, but he was like a second dad to Mothstorm, Pinestorm, and Emberfoot. And I was like a second mom to his and his first mate’s – her name is Railclaw – Kits. Kiteheart and I are really happy together. Neither of us wanted another litter of Kits. We’re happy with the strange combined family we have.
Oh, and he often brings me spiders. That’s also pretty nice.
So I think that’s it. If you have any other questions don’t be afraid to ask!
