Alright you're just gonna have to hear me out on this one, so, yveltal is a pokemon that gains power and heals itself by absorbing life, and it has a continuous cycle of death and rebirth. Literally just the dracula pokemon. But here's where I use my epic media analysis skills to convince you that (shiny)yveltal is specifically the pokemon for SOMA. Yveltal did not choose to be a symbol of death, it was simply born (or created) that way. The same with soma, he didn't choose to be Dracula's reincarnation, it was simply thrust upon him by fate. Also shiny specifically because it is sort of the opposite of normal yveltal, black switched out for white, symbolizing something kinder than a normal yveltal. Also it fits Soma's aesthetic.
