Yes, it'll be his first time. I love dark storylines, so he's gonna be dealing with a lot of internal conflict and doubt while he'll mostly be aloof to people about school gossip. 

At the dance, he'll have an anxiety attack for the first time (true moment of weakness for him), but Abby is there to take care of him. There are other plots with Miranda and Katherine that continue the day after to throw him more over the edge. [drumroll]

Well, the gymnasium looked nice enough, Alaric supposed, and the music wasn’t all hideous top forty crap, and there was definitely enough going on to hold his attention… plus, most of his friends were here.

And he was wearing a suit. It seemed a waste to just go home and tuck it in his wardrobe never to be used again. And he should probably keep an eye on Bekah, since Nik was always worried about her.

And holy fucking shit, who was that girl? There was something familiar about her, but no girl at Mystic Falls High walked with that much poise. And what an ass. And…

She turned around, and Alaric grinned. Liz. Wow. He was starting to see the appeal of dressing up. A few moments later the song changed, something a little slower, and Alaric decided it was fate. He approached Liz shaking his head, making no surprise of the fact he was looking her up and down. “Liz,” he said. “You look… well, you look…”

He should probably pick an adjective.

“Beautiful,” he said, and was sort of disappointed with himself; surely there was something else? But she smiled, and he raised an eyebrow. “So I’m not a poet, but dance with me anyway?”
