Lord John Grey and the Brotherhood of the Blade
Y’all, we are being absolutely DEPRIVED of the full glory of Lord John Grey and his family. He and Lord Melton (his brother) have a Sherlock and Mycroft relationship were they reluctantly solve crime together while also being commanders in the same military unit. John’s mother, Benedicta Grey, is a force to be reckoned with. Her sons think they’re in charge of the family because patriarchy, but the Duchess/Countess/Dowager would certainly beg to differ and quietly runs their world behind the scene. And the Beefsteak Club! And the Regiment! And Perseverance Wainwright, John’s lover turned stepbrother!
This story focuses on solving the murder of John’s father, which was staged to look like a suicide and was rumored to be tied to a Jacobite conspiracy. It’s fantastically well done. I would LOVE to see it on screen. If you are not reading the LJG series, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!! GET THIS MAN A SPIN-OFF!
