Jongsuk wasn’t an actor, so a part of him dreaded the evaluation, but he was going to try and do his best that he could. That was a given. He was only a Youtuber who talked and opened boxes and played video games on his channel. He wasn’t really an actor, but he was going to do his utmost best.
He always loved the movie the princess bride, as a child growing up. He had probably watched it over one hundred times, so of course, he was going to pick something related to princess bride. he could do any of the speeches. That whole movie was just filled with gold lines. He could do the battle of wits, but he would need another person for that. Then the perfect scene came into his head. That speech before the climatic ending, with the priest when Prince Humperdinck and Buttercup were getting married. That was such a scene stealer role.
So of course, Jongsuk ended up rewatching Princess Bride to practice the voice. He was going to end up throwing away all of his dignity. It was going to be great. One scene. One monologue. One great opportunity to shine.
He was pretty excited when performance day came. It wasn’t a very long monolgue but he was pretty eager to perform it. He was dressed pretty casually with his usual sweater, jeans and boots. So nothing special. After all it was just his entire dignity that he was throwing away since the speech was somewhat....weird with the baby talk and the w’s instead of r’s.
his turn came pretty quickly. he took a spot in front of the coaches and trainers, bowing politely. he cleared his throat and began.
Mawwiage. Mawwiage is wat bwings us togeder today.
Mawwiage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam wifin a dream…
And wuv, twue wuv, will fowwow you foweva…
So tweasure your wuv—
It was a bit short, but he nailed his delivery. he had the nasally voice almost down to an art and his w’s came out pretty good. He hoped that he did well enough to stun them, of course there were probably better actors in the companies, but he tried and he did his best.
To prepare for the upcoming evaluation, Jongsuk decided to start with the easy thing of re-watching the movie that he had decided to do his speech from. Every time he watched the Princes Bride, he found it more and more adorable every time. The way that Westley and Buttercup were so in love, and then how he left her. Everything in that movie just gave him all the emotions. He couldn’t deal. So, he ended up getting sucked into the Princess Bride well of feelings and he re-watched it more and more.
He should probably start practicing, but he was pretty deep into his re-watching marathon. He was probably on his 25tth time watching the same movie over and over again. It was just so classic. It was something that he had grown up with. Well, not exactly grown up with but it was the sort of fairy tale that he had been introduced to at an early age.
He finally turned the movie off and began practicing the voice. That nasally annoying voice of the Impressive Clergyman. It got to the point that he was asking for every day things in that voice to hopefully nail for the eval.
“Do you have the coffee?”
“Wapping and dancing...”
It was really annoying, but Jongsuk was getting pretty good. He just needed to nail the voice, since he already knew the speech after having watched the movie like way too many times. It was great. It was only for a while, until the eval. Until he got great responses to his performance.
Of course, when he got the voice down, he re-watched the movie once again for clarity. To make sure that he could do the classic justice.
