Nice day in Llanberis slate in Rainbow Slabs area. Did E1 Lugosi is dead and E2 Pull my Daisy. Both beautiful lines with enjoyable climbing. The top section of Lugosi is dead had one tricky move in it but was very well protected and actually there were good foot holds on the left while using the right crack with your hands. Pull my daisy was a bit bold to start with little gear and again a bit bold at the end with little gear. The middle section had a few tricky moves that made me think but actually during that section the gear was really good. Although the climb was 40m long it wasn't sustained as there were big ledges to put your feet on as little breaks the whole way up.

Llanberis Slate I led digital delectation HVS. This was a pretty simple climb with decent gear. Fred led Antiquity E1. This was more interesting climb with a tricky traverse left in it. Fred placed a nut over a screw sticking out of the rock which was quite quirky to do this move as there was pretty spaced bolts as protection.

Went for a quick hit in Llanberis slate today with Fred after work. I led Emerald eyes VS and Fred led Pigs in Space HVS

I went with Dave Evans to bus stop quarry to try out some Llanberis slate. I led gnat attack E1 and then seconded Massambula E2 and Scarlet Runner E4

Climbing falls

Hey, hope you are well? I haven’t done a blog post for quite a while now. I’m currently back home in my native Wales. This post is a simple one; it’s a video that was shot last time I was back here actually. It’s shot at Llanberis Slate quarries in the Snowdonia National Park in Wales. It’s taken so long to put up because this is my first ever edited video. Here’s a link to it on: YouTube

The video is of my friend Sam having quite a big fall, in which some in-situ gear gives way and he hits the floor. Fortunately the in-situ gear takes some of the force out of the fall, along with the nut he placed below. A bonus fall is at the end, of Sam again but on a different climb (fool’s gold). It’s from the same day, just after he got back on and finished the climb (Solstice) he fell off previously.
