his character is so so so interesting, the pov shift they throw to you with him is brilliant, you go through the show loving this absolute bimbo and then you realize he’s actually???? a genius???? the story has never truly been about wei wuxian and lan wangji??
i love all the little details about huaisang, the fact that he apparently has a porn collection that includes gay porn is something we need to unpack, love that he is super gay, love his gay little fan, love his love for birds, love how much he loves painting and the arts, his lazy ass, I LOVE EVERYTHING 🥺 i think he’s so fascinating, there is SO much to interpret with him and gosh his character just blows me away
his donghua design is too CUTE . his bob as a teen? adorable. and then he grows up to be so elegant OOUGHHHHHH and in cql, ji li plays him excellently i absolutely love it

My unpopular opinion about this character
i don’t think that huaisang was plotting from the very beginning of the story or faking his personality/friendship with wei wuxian, i think both sides to him are equally important and he is neither completely evil or completely soft . there’s a lot of nuance! and that’s what makes him so tragic
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
