So, Llysfaen is a village in Wales. However, before we, @clover1134 and I, knew that, we only discussed the feel we got from this word, which was undoubtly one of some fantasy fairytale.
Thus, this was written by me, it’s just a short oneshot about Arthur and Dylan:
The charms of the forest were many, drawing out a man’s most hidden desires. It’s prey were varied, from the romantic fools to the sociopathic intelligent. Once a man succumbs to it’s charms, they are never to return the same afterwards, for they come out different than they were first made.
Arthur Kirkland was an English archer, truly with the eye and heart of one. A strong mind never failed to assist him in life as well. Never had he thought there would come a fateful day when he finds himself wandering the cursed forest, entranced by every twisted vine, mist circling his ankles.
A woman’s whispers echoed, the words unclear in the soft voice. The archer found himself drawn to it, his usual raging thoughts hushed. He followed it, boot-clad feet crunching quietly on the fallen leaves. The thick trees gave way to open fields, the grass reaching to the knee, littered with lilac flowers.
The mist thickened to a fog, leaving only shadows and silhouettes. Midway was the perfect figure of a woman, flowing dress blending with the night sky, long hair spilling over her shoulders. She whispered still, beckoning, hypnotising.
Arthur’s emerald eyes were wide with childish wonder as he stumbled blindly towards her. Pale fingers reached out to take his own, indigo eyes flashing across his mind, and she vanished, leaving behind more of the mystical, white fog.
Dazed, the Englishman looked around, the strange spell on him easing. He was alone in the field, starry sky bright above him and long grass brushing his legs below him. His hands rested by his sides, one near a lilac. Two fingers cupped the flower, and it dropped into his palm.
The whispers still trailed in the cool air, no longer beckoning, rather welcoming and soothing. The flower in his palm held a small, soft light, a tiny bouncing star. It flit and flew, stark in the circle of fog. It turned in the air, and moved only once the archer took an uncertain step forward. Games of chase appeared to be popular within this forest.
It led him to a castle the size of a cottage, green creeping up it’s every side. The light gave him a fast image of the same gorgeous woman with indigo eyes, familiarity lining her every features, but then it was gone with the light.
The wooden door stood ajar, a silent plea to enter omitted. Every wish of the forest was fulfilled by the prey, for the door was soon pushed open. He stepped in, boots touching cold stone, a new air encasing him; A familiar, homely one.
With it came a defeaning silence, yet it was not looming despite the sensation that a pair of eyes followed his every move. It was cold, the kind of cold that grew to be with loneliness.
Arthur found himself in a barren, stone room, although with every blink, figures seemed to take shape. Soon, the floor was carpeted, the walls painted, the room lived in.
The only thing it was missing soon stepped in; A person. A person with features as familiar as the indigo-eyed woman’s. If hers called out like a long last memory, this person’s felt as though they were always there, keeping him grounded.
One word drifted in mind;
Brother.
Identical green eyes, like a mirror, a dusty shade of blonde-brown hair, features on which belonged naught but a smile...
