I was having a terrible time trying to find the best comparator IC with minimum offset and noise. Although it might seem a fairly easy task but we're still very limited in term of ICs availability here in Egypt.
PS: Opamps and comparators are very different thing, they aren't doing the same job. Although Opamps can get the job done but with some resistors as you may know.
LM339 comes with this feature which I find very satisfying and very handy:
1- Four in chip comparators with shared Vcc and GND.
2- Rail to rail biasing which means it can be operated for single polarity power supply
(Vcc and GN) plus operating from symmetrical one (+ -).
For proper operation you have to us Pollup resistor connected between Vcc and each comparator output pin. This is because LM339 is a open collector device.
