good morning, I was going through some chapters of light me a lantern for undisclosed reasons. for context, when I write first drafts, I will often make little notes to myself in paranthesis that I intend to resolve and delete later.
I found this

How does it feel to know that most people in the InuKag fandom perceive LMAL to be the true Inuyasha sequel as opposed to the trainwreck that shall-not-be-named?
Definitely surreal.
When I started writing Light Me A Lantern, it was because I loved Inuyasha. That was pretty much it. I had a lot of nostalgia for the series, and a lot of new ideas, and just things I generally wanted to explore. I wrote it out of passion, and I guess that's why fans of the fic have clung to it after the HNY Fiasco. You can always tell when something's written out of love versus out of a company order to make money - or at least that's what folks have told me about LMAL.
And honestly, that just means the world to me, because when I started writing it in 2014 (and yes, that fact that it's been eight years does make me want to throw up lol) there was no sequel. HNY wasn't even a thought yet.
So I think there was an element of serendipitous timing, with me finishing LMAL last summer, as HNY was going down the tube. I never planned it like that, I couldn't possibly have, but I think it just highlighted the difference between a loving fan made project and a cash grab. If people can find some kind of comfort in substituting LMAL as a sequel, then that brings me unspeakable joy, because it's the sequel I imagined.
Just reread Light Me A Lantern, still so amazing!! And I just finished for the first time Scars, also amazing?! But it got me thinking of Inuyasha dreams about losing Kagome what does Kagome have nightmares about? And how does Inu help her with them?

To answer your question, as I sort of alluded to in Scars, Kagome doesn't remember the events of Chapter 39 as vividly as Inuyasha does. She remembers bits and pieces, emotions, some things that were said, but it's all sort of... vague and unclear. So she doesn't have nightmares about it like Inuyasha does. When she does, she just wakes up a bit upset and shaken, only able to recollect fragments when she wakes up.
The thing is, Kagome actually had more nightmares about All That before it actually happened, with her prophetic dreams about the burning eclipse. And we saw how Inuyasha reacted. The first time, he panicked a bit and quickly woke her up, took hold of her when she was frantic, and just tried to get her to breathe. He's a little more intense, because let's be honest he still wasn't the most emotionally intelligent at that point lol, but he loves her, so he tries his best.
The same thing carries over to whenever Kagome gets those fragments all tangled up in her dreams. It doesn't happen often, but Inuyasha would get better in time to just holding and reassuring her that she's safe. And so long as he's there, it doesn't take her much convincing to believe.
So I've been trying for ages to sit down and record myself reading Light Me A Lantern, and by some miracle, I actually finished Chapter One. If, and that's a big IF I continue with this project, it will be available on my Patreon.
This is mostly to garner interest, and have a laugh at myself.

But I was thinking, post lmal do you think Inukag would be nervous about having children sense you know childbirth at least back during their time could kill the mother. Do you think they would be worried about it sense there will probably be no more redo buttons??

So that's actually something I've had in mind in mind for a while, and I plan to write it out when I have the time. But yeah, it's going to be difficult. They'll have a hard time conceiving for a while, and when they do, it comes with double the risk because of Kagome's injury. It's going to be complicated, and more than a bit terrifying, but it'll work out. I'm not in the business of throwing that much angst around without pay off lol, and I think Inuyasha and Kagome in LMAL have had more than their fair share.

Light Me A Lantern: Chapter 40

When the cool light faded, the dark was quick to take its place. It swallowed him whole, leaving no trace of the beach, the burning moon, the God beneath his palm - or the slender hand clasped in his. Sensation vanished, consciousness retreating back to the place behind his eyes, settling back within himself. The all-consuming shadow receded, and with its absence Inuyasha slowly became aware of a flickering, orange light pressing against the dark, not quite able to penetrate it. He became aware of the soft palate underneath his back, the scent of lingering smoke - not the smoke of a battlefield. The smoke of a hearth. Over the crackle and roar of a fire came the soft pelting of water running off a roof. A crack of thunder rumbled gentle and deep overhead.
All at once it seemed to slam into Inuyasha. He bolted upright on his pallet with a gasp rough enough to tear at his already aching throat, torn from grief-stricken screams. The air dragged like fire down into his chest as his eyes struggled to adjust to the room. He’d been on that grassy hillside what felt like only moments ago, his body scrambling to keep up with the shock of the loss of grass beneath him and empty stars above. He saw the fire in the hearth first, its light searing into his eyes and blotching out his vision as he stared wildly around the room he found himself in.
“Inuyasha.”
Heyo after the big lmal finale do you think kagomes scared of thunder? You know because it sounds like gunfire? I’m really trying not to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read your masterpiece
Oh I've really been thinking about this one, and I feel like it would be a bit conflicting. If she were suddenly caught off guard with a sound that was close, loud, and sharp, she would probably react out of fear. Inuyasha too, for that matter. That's a moment that's going to stay with them both for the rest of their lives.
But Kagome, in my head, also really loves rain, and gentle summer thunderstorms. I think during storms like that it wouldn't affect her so much, because it's constant and softer than gunfire. On the other hand, I think that whenever she hears thunder coming in, the first few rumbles would have her tensing up, stopping what she's doing and looking out in whatever direction it's coming from. Inuyasha would probably notice, ground her in any way he can.
In short, I think it's something she'd learn to manage through out her life. I don't think she would be scared of thunder forever, but the way she reacts would definitely change and adapt over time.
