the kiss is actually a surprise, really, which is more the reason that tim jerks back than anything else. he's usually really good at telling when someone is about to kiss him, usually because he's been egging them on for a while before hand. tim's never taken the back seat in flirting, not his style, he likes to push and pull, to poke at people until they react.
bob had just. surprised him. so tim puts up a hand, not in anger just to give himself a moment. "uh, thanks?"
