They stood together on the road for a moment, neither eager to part. “The sky’s beautiful tonight,” he said, pointing to the horizon, “I’ve always been partial to that shade of orange”  She said nothing, only nodded, and turned her gaze upward. And it was—streaked with, oranges, soft rose and even golds. They stood in silence and watched as the orange faded to pink, then to blue, and finally to black. Only when the moon rose full and glowing with white above them did he turn to go.
