I'm 4 years late to this but everyone's complaining and joking about how LM3 is a hotel and not a mansion but Dark Moon. Dark Moon wasn't a mansion either.

Is king boo really evil?

I mean, I been watching a few theories and I actualy dont think hes a real villain.

In the first game he kidnamed Mario yes, but he had reasons, Mario attacked the boos and KB as their king felt the responsability of helping them, he also released the ghosts that E. Gadd captured against their will.

In dark moon what he had done was destroy and object that was mind-controling the ghosts, he helped them.

In the third game the thing is a little bit more complicaded, at the begining he sems pleased whith Hellen's help, but at the end of the game he sees totaly mad and almost dessesperate because they coudnt capture Luigi.

He just wanted the best for his people, he was a good king.

And E. Gadd is only cousing trouble between the ghosts.
