It was Leighton’s birthday and Ed was pretty excited about it. He had definite plans to spoil her and was excited to spend the day with his girlfriend. Ed had texted Leighton that morning, telling her to open up her front door and wishing her a happy birthday. He waited there, balancing a few things in his hand, but retaining a cool and collected demeanor. Finally, the door opened, and he saw his love. “Good morning, my love,” he said, leaning forward a bit to kiss her hello. “Happy 31st Birthday. I hope you haven’t already booked up your day and made time for this poor Brit,” he smiled at her.

“I’ve brought a few things that I could use some help with before they end up all over the floor,” he stated, a small laugh to follow. “Firstly, your favorite coffee,” he handed her a cup that he was balancing in his hand along with some tea for him. “And then some breakfast for my girl,” he handed her a donut with a candle sticking out of it. “I would have given you breakfast in bed, but I didn’t think I should scare you by breaking into your house,” he commented, laughing.
