As much as Luca attempted to keep out of most of the activities and focus on his duty, he had been signed up for one of the volleyball games — there were plenty more, but he had only relented enough to play in one game. “If you were looking for a partner to play another game, I’m sorry — you may need to go find someone else. I should be heading back to work now.” Though he knew that once he got back to his post, someone was going to send him right back out into the festival again against his better judgement.

Rowan was happy with the festivities and how they were unfolding. She couldn’t ask for a better few days. The weather was perfect, the plans went without a single hitch. Of course that could have been because they were thrown out and redrawn repeatedly. One of the final pieces to the puzzle was securing an alliance that she most definitely needed. 

The Southland Queen had invited the High Lord of Northland to chat with her, and she wanted to personally show him around. “Thank you for meeting with me. I’m glad we could finally get together. Especially after our favorable discussions last time we met. I was hoping to show you around, and perhaps even discuss all that Southland has to offer. I hope you’ve been well since our last encounter?”

Kat was enjoying watching the volleyball games, it was definitely a better idea than taking part in them. Her eyes rolls at the thought, there was no way anyone could get her out there. At least, that’s what she thought. When the woman made her way over and invited Kat to play she wanted to turn her down. 

She found herself sitting a little straighter though and licking her lips before raising her brows at the other, “well, what do I get if I do join?” She hinted looking the other over before meeting her gaze again.

Taking time off work wasn’t something Egan did often.  Even if he didn’t spend money in his time away from the brothel, the idea of actively not making money tended to put a pit in his stomach.  But after the invitations had gone out, and he pretty much saw a chance for a free visit to Eastland, the place he so desperately wanted to be, the reason why he was so obsessed with making money, he couldn’t pass it up.  But if he was going to be away from work, he was going to get his money’s worth, even if it was all free of charge.  So that’s why after finding his rooms on the riverboat casino, a single bed, he quickly came up with a scheme.  He returned to the front desk, a crowd of people waiting for their room assignments and keys, and he scanned the crowd, looking for the best option.  

“Hey, go with what’s about to happen, and I’ll make it worth your while,” he promised, but didn’t give them a chance to accept or decline before throwing an arm around them, and looking to the employee doling out rooms, and hoping desperately that his assumption of couples getting a king or at least a double bed was correct.

Location: Eastland’s Festival, Dunk Tank Game

Dark eyes took in the booths and games as Isadora passed them. The thing about Eastland, the advisor mused, was how adverse to conflict the realm was. As a result, none of the activities the guardian nymph could participate in were able to be misinterpreted or misconstrued by others. Especially those wondering if Isadora, as her role of an impartial advisor, was one to gain any bias when it came to politics and inter-realm relations. Luckily, tonight, that was something she could escape.

She found herself at the dunk tank, reaching down into the ball basket as she stood across from the target. While cheating would be easy, Isadora wouldn’t find it fun. Or challenging. A ball escaped the bucket and began rolling away. Thoughtlessly, she used her abilities to roll it back towards her, just before a stranger could step on it. “Excuse me,” Isadora called out as she neared and retrieved the object. “Had a stray.” She joked. “Hey, would you like to join me?” Isadora asked, nudging her head towards the dunk tank. “Pretty sure that four hands are better than two.” She offered instead with a hint of a smile.

Where: Southland / Truth Knot

Alden felt...okay to say the least today. He felt like he could be around people after he’d tried constantly regulate his temperature by ice baths and ice cold beverages. Cold showers also weren’t ideal but whatever he needed to do not to spur any heat. He also took some time away from work just to work on getting himself under control. 

Now he was here with Vada and he found himself tied to her with a truth knot. “You sure this is something that you want to do? With me?” He wasn’t afraid of deep truths that maybe even he didn’t realize but this felt like it could dig up things that he repressed from himself.

Jax hadn’t been able to keep his eyes off her. Not that he had ever been completely successful, but it was harder than ever after so many years without being able to even have a glimpse of the woman that he loved before everything changed between them. Even now, it was better for them both that he keep his distance as well as a low profile but as his body moved before his mind had been made up — Jax wasn’t good at doing what was the smart thing. Not even when he extended a hand towards the other when he came up alongside where they were sitting to enjoy the concert. “Come on.” He gestured towards some of the others in the crowd that were slowly dancing to the music that filled the air all around them, while others were simply watching. “What do you say — for old times sake?”

Where: Southland @ the chili cook off 

Jackson walked by the many pots of chili lined up ready for taste testing so that people could vote for a winner. There were times when he wasn’t as keen on being a vampire, but this particular moment he was glad that he was. “The Hartwells and this chili cook off...will haunt me until the day I meet my true death. I remember being human and when I tell you that chili had a vendetta against me...every year it was something else. Chili didn’t know whether to be hot, cold, spicy, salty. One time I’m pretty sure that chili gave me the flu.” He was glad that he could now eat the chili and taste nothing for the most part. That had been centuries ago, but this time honored tradition was one he’d never forget.
