I am going to say,I don't like that take that "Macaque was pretending to be a villain" when he actually was one,he wasn't pretending when he used mk,he wasn't pretending when he used mk friends against him and enjoyed doing it.
He just turn soft off screen and had developed off screen.
The redemption arcs in monkie kid r so lazy and it's so frustrating because they have so much potential to explore complex redemptions but instead they are just "these guys are friends now" with no deeper look into how that happened other than a completely new personality puppeteering what used to be a good and interesting character.
I wish Mei sword represented her not just having azure sword design,it should be something personal and meaningful to her,the design reflected that part of her,her family can be one but unique sword,like old Chinese swords or maybe something about her connection to mk,that shows there friendship and trait of wanting to protect him.
I still think macaque reading jttw is still cheap and shallow,it should have been done like how catra reflects on memory about adore promise,where he changes his perspective on those events,just cut out the cheap macaque reading to the book to understand wukong.
To just show him changing perspective when there in wukong memory.
I feel this related to macaque and other lmk cast members in lego monkie kid.
Especially some of the show writers choices.
Redson only around in s5,for dragon fruit and nothing else,he not needed on s5,nor does he bring Unique growth to Mei,redson is only use to help Mei develop and that it.
How do you guys think lmk could handle the racism plot line next season (if anyone poc I would love to hear your thoughts) since we don't know much about world in lmk and how it handles demons,if it systematic racism or something else (I don't know much about politics of this issue well enough to talk about it,also white person).
All the criticism of lmk writing I made in past and one reblog are still valid,I love the series but it writing problems still exists and it not a perfect series.
