Anyways. 3 back was a CHOICE Utah. If only Kelley wasn’t plagued with glass bones and paper skin. Keeps calling herself a Peach and now she bruises like one.

Vero still with the absolute moves. She is so much fun to watch. And that free kick goal. OOOH! Needed and Beautiful. AND the assist. Whatta lady.

ARod came out with some damn spice and 1. I don’t blame her and 2. I expect nothing less 3. She tried to help Ratcliffe get her shit together, but it did not work

Bowen and Jonsdottir were physical at the beginning of the first half and then... I could not tell you their contributions after that.

Elizabeth Ball was a fun addition, I liked her on Portland, I’m liking her in Utah!!

I just think Rachel Corsie is NEAT. She’s a solid fucking defender and with Utah losing Becky and not having Kelley, Corsie has stepped tf up. The three back does her no favors though. At all.

So their first GOAL. Lo with the INCREDIBLE through ball, ARod staying onsides beautifully and hitting a perfect cross and Matheson with that FINISH. That is some good freaking soccer.

Then they lost steam after Houston got the equalizer. Lo had a better first half tbh. She was KILLING it. And then her passes got sloppy which was a lil disappointing.

I think the early success can be attributed to the veteran players they do have with ARod, Corsie, Bowen, Vero, Matheson... but they lack youthful energy.

Tziarra King should have been in so much sooner because she is really the only source of that energy. She really should have started the second half. BUT SHE STILL CAME IN AND SHE HAD INCREDIBLE CONTROL AND PASSES AND SHE SCORRRREDDDD! Game changer.

And I’d like to reiterate one more time. The three back formation is idiotic and I’ve NEVER seen it work well. Dumb.

Houston.

Rachel Daly came to PLAY. GoodNESS. Her first Goal. I mean. She was wide open. That strike though. Banger. AND THEN THAT GIRLFRIEND GOAL. Cute!! And then the called back hat trick... that was a goal, let’s be real. She’s on a damn mission. If she can keep the energy up throughout the tournament, LOOK OUT. (When she came off she was limping, looked like hip flexor to me 😬)

Stengel is kind of a dumb dumb but she’s a fun one to watch play. Her assist to Groom was PERFect.

Shea Groom, that BANGER GOAL. Daaaaaaaaang. She was quiet early on, but holy shit.

Their midfield struggled in the first half, but they exploded in the second half. Much improvement.

All in all, wow. What a GAME TO WATCH. Who woulda thought they’d have the most interesting game so far.

I hope people start investing more in these games and this league and these players.

Utah... I care so much about these women as players and I can’t imagine how hard it must be to put on a game when there is obviously so much bad stuff happening as an organization. I hope y’all get an owner and coaches that respects you and care about you.
