You can see how much I improved since 2021 with this little follow-up to that comic. Some minor changes here and there in terms of character design (Spamton's fangs + overbite. the dots around my waist now being spikes)

Only Spamton speaks in this, a creative decision that actually provided me with a little challenge for that 2nd to last page's bottom 2 panels! Trying to show that I'm debating whether or not I should put the disk back..

Anyways, I hope you guys like this! it was a lot of fun to work on and I'm so happy to finally have it finished!

Again, like in the first post: if anything is hard to read, I'll add a transcription! tho I think for the most part it's easy to read, only word that may be difficult is "[MAMA]!!!!"

spending the morning final hours before I go to bed working out the overall story progression of my (sona) adventure in Deltarune with the help of a friend who REALLY helped me get some stuff sorted out in a way I find satisfying.

The only remaining stuff to work out is the finer details of what the heck goes on exactly within TV World plot-wise for this. Like.. what's the relationship like, how do things progress, etc etc.

OK SO LIKE. here's the stuff I got for it, just gonna copypaste some of the stuff I wrote to my friend while working it out:

From initial intro to his crash-out, to boyfriend is gonna be one heck of a roller coaster to even GET there with this guy.

At least with Spamton there was a lot of time to grow attached to him and get to know him in general. work up to him opening up and letting me in.

Staying in his shop being the best for bonding with him. who knows how long I've been there.. but it was enough to make an impression and see a better side of him. Until the deal had to be fulfilled… and well. We have all seen how that NEO experience went.

But still.. it didn't end on any truly irredeemable terms. Just… needed some time to recover and process.. Rethink things. (still ended up being more than just partners in his scheme <3)

But with Tenna? ..hm. I'm still working on it. Still trying to figure out how to work him into the Loaded Husk thing.. (which is basically my self-insert DR AU because I am DEEPLY UNWELL 🥰)

what if he (Tenna) was a gift for me before I moved out and into the house I reside in within Hometown away from my parents in this hypothetical? Like.. He was given to me entirely brand new and I was really happy to have it and watch tv (my dad already tried to buy me a flatscreen irl but I have 0 room for it ANYWHERE and yet he still bought it and now it's sitting useless and wasted) and really just enjoy myself with it on in the bg

So when it came time to pack up and move out… well.

Something happened and he ended up going missing. To him it would be like he was abandoned and thrown out, but that's not what happened. he just.. was lost sometime on the journey to Hometown until someone else found him and by fate, he ended up in Hometown, too. It wasn't until some good years later that I finally drop by and visit the antique shop and see him sitting there.

Like a joyous reunion to find the sticker I put on him as the main identifier still being there. He'd still be bitter about it, about the whole ordeal of going missing like that. but I think he'd recover well enough from that? given a little time to understand and process.

it would add more tension and drama to have an even longer expanse of time of not having a tv and having to rely on headphones and internet.. (something he would be extremely bitter about due to Spamton, but hey. that'll be water under the new bridge in no time once I'm through with these two)

so BASICALLY… the chain of events are this:

I move out

Tenna gets lost in transit to new house

Tenna and I both wind up in Hometown (my new residence)

Some good years pass until I dig deeper into the local antique shop and reunite with Tenna (I would have likely visited a few times, this would add more to the drama cuz Tenna could mention later that he recognized my voice in the shop a few times tho he couldn't see me and felt ignored (bro I literally did not see you, you were tucked away in another portion that wasn't visible until the shop rearranged the inventory!!!))

Bring him back home and resume my life like usual. Turning him on in the bg like old times.

something something I end up going MIA when I visit the library.. like. missing for a good amount of time.

Have my encounter and adventure with Spamton in Cyber City

something something, I come back out to the Light World (now with a new boyfriend. Maybe I was brought to Castle Town by Ralsei who was doing some last runs of Cyber City before the fountain was sealed and he helped me return back through the light exit there? ..I like that idea.)

ANYWAYS

I attempt to go back home, but something has happened and there's black smoke seeping in from a neighbor's house (Kris..) and it's affecting my own home.. (potentially? I keep imagining this.. this would entail Tenna isn't in Kris's house in this AU and that their TV was long since gone, but they had like.. idk other means of entertainment and so their adventure is different enough?? I guess?? anyways, TV World in my house let's goooo!!!!)

BOOM. TV World.

Meet Tenna

He is.. strained in his joy to meet me and hang out for real and everything else he has planned for games and all.

the whole reservoir of baggage Tenna has comes crashing down and now I gotta pick up the pieces despite not knowing how to swim

I think "Loaded Husk" is probably the best Deltarune thing I came up with. (think the Spamton Neo comic).

Like genuinely I love that thing soooooo much. It's my canon.

The idea of "what if Spamton's body was left behind when he downloaded himself to the disk?" being what spawned it and I took that simple basic idea and I RAN WITH IT. I RAN WITH IT TO THE STARS AND BEYOND.

Found myself in the Cyber World Dark World, lost, confused, and wandering until Spamton popped out of a dumpster.

Took on a deal to help him out in exchange for a place to stay, and the means of helping him started off just being around the shop.. but soon enough became him asking a larger favor.. The Mansion.

It'd been months since arriving. Gotten used to life in the Dark World. The food, the people.. Spamton especially. Gotten used to him and his quirks. Closer. Very. Close.

But his preoccupied mind wouldn't rest until he got that disk.

He got it.. but all that was left.. was his body.

Taking his now empty little husk of a body with me down into the Queen's Basement cuz I just couldn't LEAVE HIM there to rot away in his dump shop. heart too big. braving the traps and all within the basement just to get that disk back to the body.. doing all I can to keep his body safe.

the events of the comic happen and it's a literal nightmare for both parties involved. None of this went right. None of this is how it was hoped to go. A broken dream. A broken hope.

So I wrote something short with Eldritch Spamton after listening to too many "Deal Gone Wrong" remixes.

This remix is perfect to listen to while reading, really picture that creeping and crawling dread: [X] [X] <-- this, too. playing both at the same time with the deal gone wrong on a low volume.. ough.. now THAT is perfect to what I envisioned.

also a small reference to [this old writing] I did for him that I'm still proud of. It comes prior to this writing tho. [Bonus] art for that piece, too.

There's a suffocating silence that fills the dark, dank halls, sending a sense of cold dread crawling up your spine. You hoped that it would be the last time you were here.

The hauling of his empty husk didn't make the experience any less uncomfortable than it was the last time you were here.. You only thanked the Angel above for your gift of being a ghost. Walking down the halls.. his lifeless body in your arms.. the so-called "disk" in the lower hand that holds him up.

A sound.. almost like music.. is the only other thing that fills the quiet void. It feels.. off. Repeating.. and wrong.

Making your way through the tunnels and halls.. occasional movement from the "disk" causes you to shift and adjust the body. Why you were carrying him with you.. you couldn't answer. It felt.. wrong. to just leave him there. You knew you had to take that disk. Take it back down there. Down here. You only hoped-- prayed that it would mean you'd see him again.

The tears and fears you shed back in his shop had long passed. Seeing his body collapsed upon the floor, partially propped by the painted mural wall. All that was left was the dread and nausea settling deep inside you. And worry. Worry for his safety. You only hoped he would be okay.. You'd been down here, in this Dark World, for weeks now.. perhaps even a month.. it was hard to tell. You'd grown accustomed to him, fond of him. Even despite his unsettling nature.. and the tendrils.

You only wanted to help him. He seemed so desperate, in such dire need of the "generosity" as he called it.

Your thoughts and footsteps halted as you thought you heard the sound of a phone ringing in the distance.. Gripping tighter to his hollow form, you persisted in your trek. Yet.. every once in a while, there would be that distinct echo of a phone ringing.. heard just ever so slightly over the low droning hum.

Past the traps and electrical cord vines, floating up the tubes of spinning bars.. You knew you were getting closer.. and for some reason.. you felt as though.. you were heading to your demise.

This deal of yours to help him.. had something.. gone wrong?
