The Manser Medal – AJ House of the Year champions architectural excellence in a new-build or significantly extended and refurbished house. The project is an exploration of a contemporary working farmhouse, that is characterised by its agricultural context. The founder and lead architect for the project Iain Monteith comments, "We are very pleased to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award and with such esteemed architectural practices. All credit must go to the client, who entrusted a young practice with building their home. They deliberately provided an open brief in order that we would be uninhibited in our design exploring the theme of a contemporary farmhouse and how that becomes the focal point of life on the farm”.
