For today’s post I wanted to broadcast about something that have inspired me over the past weekend. I live for the element of horror and the paranormal, so it’s no wonder why I spent my weekend visiting a local haunt or two.
My roomies, myself, and a friend of mine went to the McInteer Villa in Atchison, Kansas. This house’s history goes back over 100 years, and with numerous deaths within, the spirits were definitely present. For me personally, I definitely felt something in the attic and the ground floor near the kitchen, but especially the kitchen. It was very strange.
The owner was telling us all about her experiences when the grandfather clock that I was standing next to chimed. She looked at us kind of oddly and said it hadn’t been working all day. Then just a moment later my back suddenly felt very cold. Now, if you know me, you know that I’m a heater. It’s very difficult for me to feel cold. To make matters even more eerie, I felt the sensation of a hand brushing up my arm shortly after that.
So while I can’t confirm or deny the presence of spirits there, it was definitely an experience I won’t forget. Some friends and I also plan on booking the house for one night in the near future, which will allow us access to the basement, which the owner refuses to go into.
So, if you find yourself in Kansas, consider visiting this local house for a haunt!
