Of Wolves and Rocks (Part 4)
Even with the current world crisis, and the lack of things to do regardless of where you might go, it was great being able to stay in the Colorado Springs area to see the wolves at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. It was also great to explore the Garden of the Gods for an afternoon. That said, our original plans included a bit more. There are still places to explore. We'll be back.

Colonel Charles Kenneth Howard-Bury, (1883-1963) Soldier and Explorer : Howard-Bury travelled widely in Asia exploring and collecting plant specimens. He inherited Belvedere House in Mullingar in 1912.
During the First World War he was a battalion commander of the King’s Royal Rifles at Arras, the Somme, Passchendaele and Ypres and was awarded the D.S.O. He was a Prisoner-of-War for much of 1918. He led a pioneering reconnaissance mission to Mount Everest in 1921, with the expedition becoming the first Europeans to set foot on Everest, and the first to map the area.
