Local journalist Roberta McKercher, who wrote for the Wood River Journal for 64 years. A community leader, ‘Bert’ as she was affectionately known, wrote the column “Blaine Talk’ and lived in the Ezra Pound house in Hailey, where the poet was born. McKercher often opened the home to Pound admirers, including Allen Ginsberg, who she hosted for tea in 1993. The Roberta McKercher park in Hailey is named in her honor.
