I often replay the highlights of my 27th birthday party in my head. No matter how many times I listen to certain Joey Harkum songs, I am still flabbergasted by the impact they leave every single time. He’s one of the coolest and most down to earth humans, that I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. After being introduced to this genius poet almost a decade ago, I can wholeheartedly say , that Joey Harkum has been there for me throughout the best and worst of times of my “adulthood”. He’s an underrated and timeless treasure, that will some day be so widely recognized, that he may or may not even remember my face. On the other hand, I like to believe, that I’ve made my appreciation abundantly clear enough for him to possibly always remember. Who knows? The only thing I am certain of, is that his music will always be a huge part of me. His uniquely poetic lyrics have gotten me through some of my darkest days and I couldn’t be more thankful. There aren’t enough shots of Jameson orexcessive merch purchases to prove this fact, but it’s worth it to me, to try and at least express it.
