My beloved local trekking guide in #Sapa, Bau. One of my favourite things about travel is meeting local people and this time was no exception; Bau is an inspirational woman who belongs to the Black Hmong ethnicity living in the rice terraces of Sapa. She cannot read or write because she never had the opportunity to attend school but she speaks excellent English and appears to be the main provider for her family. Bau is a true local who took us hiking off the beaten track to places I couldn't ever find or understand alone. Will be back for a longer trekking trip in the future I hope.
