I decided to build my own religious calendar basically from scratch, starting with picking a "New Year's Day" that made sense to me with the worldview and practice I'm building. That'll be the winter solstice, the darkest night of the year. It just makes sense to me for a year to die and be born again on such a night. Plus Christmas is right around the corner from it.
I'm going to be doing a ton of research and writing over the next five days, working out a lot of it. These are just the books I have at home. I might hit up a couple libraries and see if they have anything on Eastern European Catholic folk traditions I can draw from and research as well.
