Task 2 Pre-Production: Plan and risk assessment
For this shoot I have chosen to make this series about my friend's love of skateboarding, she has been learning since 2018 originally just as a way to get around but slowly she learned more and gained confidence. It made her gain confidence in larger parts of her life making new friends, and she felt that she had found a safe place to be herself.
For this, I would like to take my photos in Kelvingrove park, due to the ever-changing graffiti I will not know what colours will be painted but the surrounding trees will add depth to the images.
In the event of bad weather, we will rearrange, go to a nearby cafe and wait out the rain.

Daylight modulating devices
For my shoots I did research into some devices that would be helpful for me and would help create my final images, what I found most helpful is a 5 in one, this includes;
This covers, a white, gold and silver reflector that will soften and fill in shadows in photos, but will provide different intensities, the white will be more subtle, the silver will be very strong and the gold will provide a yellow tone to the images.
The black side can be used as a flag to stop light that isn't intentional or that is being bounce into frame from the surroundings.
The white centre will soften light if it is too hard or bright and it will soften shadows or help make the light on the subject less bright or harsh.

How has the Depth of Field affected what is important in the image?
Within these images, I was trying to show where my subject lives and where he is proud to be from, my aim with the background was to show his streets, but also draw the eye into the image with the lines being drawn by the street around him.
Does the composition play an important part in the photo in relation to your subject?
The Composition is everything in this image, and I think the main thing that makes it interesting I would have perhaps tried different angles just to try out different shapes and getting drawn into a different part of my subject however I think I had a strong idea.
28.09.21 Location Shoots
During Tuesday location shoot we were asked to go out and take photos of strangers in Glasgow in a location were there wasn't much distraction in the background to make the person in focus.
These are my best 4 images from that class.
