A #snow #crow today. If it’s very cold, they get a warm hard boiled egg and they are very appreciative. #snowcrow #lochendpark #crowsofinstagram (at Lochend Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl63RkcIYvK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The #herons of #lochendpark are struggling to eat with the loch frozen over. I’ve been feeding them balls of 20% fat mince and the odd prawn. They seem desperately hungry. If you have some time and can spare about £2 for some meat scraps, chicken livers, pork mince. Toss small amounts out to them. They will appreciate it. We have named them all Irene, though there’s no way to tell their sex. And there’s also Travel Sized Irene, who is much smaller. #birdsofinstagram #heronsofinstagram #greyheronsofinstagram #greyheron #lochendpark (at Lochend Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmLuEnYIONm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
These magnificent bastards KNOW they look fab. They perch over our heads and rain down monkeynut shells and gratitude. #crowsofinstagram #crow #snowcrow #lochendpark (at Lochend Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl7BZ7WIFXV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
It’s important to have messy and totally unscheduled time outdoors. Genie reminds me that an hour spent visiting the birds in the park is the perfect activity. #birdsofinstagram #parksofinstagram #lochendpark (at Lochend Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgeyWlaIUV0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Had not been to see my cried for a few days because of flu but went today and was greeted like returning hero. This is Momo, son of Victor and Morag. Momo is very loud and persistent. He’s friendly to me. Very trusting. #crowsofinstagram #crow #corvid #lochendpark #fledgling (at Lochend Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfUu19jotEZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Well, this was a special day. My park crows, Vic and Morag, brought their babies to meet me. They herded them over and they are soooo cute! We don’t have names yet. I guess I was wrong that the nest had failed. What a thrill to be trusted with the bebbies. My grinchy heart got bigger 🥹 #crowsofinstagram #babycrow #crowfriendsarethebestfriends #fledglings #lochendpark (at Lochend Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeooddboeW2/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
My goodness is #lochendpark looking splendid lately with wild #yellowiris (also known as yellow flag or water flag). Look at that happy bee enjoying it! I feel so lucky to have this park. (at Lochend Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeKA_89I9mE/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
We went back and found the piece of glass that did for poor Eva. It was well hidden in grass and I had to feel around for it. As you can see, it’s the bottom of a beer bottle and is shaped exactly like what you’d want if you wanted to rip someone’s thigh open. Eva’s cut was about 10cm long and about 2cm deep. It bled like anything and required 4 stitches to close up. Beware of broken glass in the grass in city parks. Do not walk barefoot or plonk yourself down without care. And for goodness sake, dispose of rubbish properly. #lochendpark #litter #hazardsofcityliving (at Lochend Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cc5jHQcIjBy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
