Good Morning from Scotland
Loch Fyne by Tracy McCulloch
Old Castle Lachlan
This ruined 15th Century castle sits on the shore of Loch Fyne. The well preserved ruins offer spectacular views of the Loch and this is a great spot to have a cuppa or a picnic and just enjoy the view -RoxyC.
It is really worth the short walk from the Kilmorie Chapel to get here. Be sure to be careful clambering around the old ruins-TommyC
Cost: Free
Opening hours: 24/7, but it’s obviously best to visit in daylight hours.

Day 4 was a busy day of sightseeing as it’s our final day in Inveraray before moving to our second location. Our first stop was to admire the ruins of Kilchurn Castle, which was set in the beautiful Scottish countryside near Awe Viaduct. It was beautiful since it was also by Lochawe. We then made a stop at St Conan’s Kirk, which was a lovely old church with a beautiful view of Lochawe. We discovered the organ there, but I didn’t get a chance to play it. It also had beautiful stain glass windows too. It was such a lovely church and reminded me of several other churches that I have seen on my church adventures. Our next stop on our adventure was McCaig’s Tower which had a wonderful view over the town Oban, this was a great vantage point to see the town before heading down there. We went for a wander and sampled some lovely local seafood and did some shopping before heading back via Portsonachan to enjoy some lovely views of Lochawe before heading back to the house 😊. It’s been a busy day, but some lovely views and interesting historic sites 😊🏴 #familytrip #familytime #precious #Scotland #LochFyne #LochAwe #ScottishHighlands #Beautiful #Scenery #ShotoniPhone12ProMax #holiday #Easter2022 #Oban #Portsonachan #CountryLife #KilchurnCastle #StConansKirk #McCaigsTower #HistoricSites (at Oban,Scotland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcYvKSAKI2-/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Day 2 was mainly spent remote working. Day 3 we had a Sri Lankan New Year’s brunch. Happy Sri Lankan new year to our friends and family!! Hope it’s prosperous and brings you and your family joy, good luck and success. After this we went to explore the local area and the surrounding towns. We visited St Columba’s Cave which was interesting. After that we headed to Tarbert, where we explored the old Royal Castle and the town and got to sample some local seafood 😊😋. All in all it’s been a great day. Time to explore more tomorrow! 😊 #familytrip #familytime #precious #Scotland #LochFyne #BarvrackHouse #ScottishHighlands #Beautiful #Scenery #ShotoniPhone12ProMax #holiday #Easter2022 #Tarbert #subaaluthawuruddakwewa #HappySriLankanNewYear #CountryLife (at Tarbert, Loch Fyne) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcWC8vWKtvn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Today has been a busy day of travelling with a 4:30 AM start and a very long journey, but it has been well worth it! Lovely to have this beautiful retreat to stay in for the next few days with a magnificent view of Loch Fyne. Time to recharge the batteries and get ready for the first full day of being in Scotland 😊🏴 #familytrip #familytime #precious #Scotland #LochFyne #BarvrackHouse #Airbnbexperience #ScottishHighlands #Beautiful #Scenery #ShotoniPhone12ProMax #holiday #Easter2022 (at Inveraray) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcQ3ug2KPRB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
