lochlann... he has 2 dads, one of which is a fae, and bc of that his human dad is really worried hes going to run off and get himself into trouble bc he himself was known for chasing fae as a kid and yknow his other dad is literally one so like,,,, this boys got adventure in his blood. hes squinty cos he cant see for SHIT and hes a lil self conscious cos hes chumby and short but hes a good good boy.. loud but gentle. he just wants to kiss cute boys.
heres a doodle of lochlanns dads... they dont have names yet but the dad on the left is a fae who was king of a small seelie court but ran away with the adventurous fire haired human who found his way to his doorstep. theyve been on a lot of adventures in their youth, but ultimately settled down in a quiet village to raise lochlann away from the knowledge that hes part fae and that his own dad, always full of riddles, used to be one,,,
Lochlann! An auxillary that ends up coming over often. He was turned after a near death experience and it made him determined to live life to the fullest. For him, this included spending several hundred dollars on piercings and who knows how much on sharpening the rest of his teeth, and becoming a liscensed nurse. Despite his spikey appearance, he's a pretty sweet guy.
I know I’m late on this one, but I had this party to go to last night, and we got home late and *excuse excuse excuse*. But I figured this would be the only late one I do, so it’s all good.
Well, sort of good. I’m sure @anijeltaventry was staring at Tumblr all night waiting for mine. ;P
I do feel sort of bad, though. @callistochan87 has been putting forth ~*~effort~*~ on hers, and all I’m doing is straight forward headshots. Ah well.
So the first one is @callistochan87‘s Shelby. Sort of wish I had managed to do this one after she posted hers, because I love the ‘new’ design she did of her! But instead, it’s just the old one, and...it’s all right, I guess. Could be cuter if I had waited.
The second one is @anijeltaventry‘s Maeve and Lochlann, and I tried to put forth a little effort on this one by putting his arm around her. It turned out rather cute! Not as cute as the one @callistochan87 did, but...meh. At least she got one that looks great! ;P
Now we’re back to single pictures. ;P This time around its @anijeltaventry‘s love interest, Lochlann, and my love interest, Dylan, Think I did okay with the scruff there, although it helps that his picture turned out pretty hot. Which is hilarious, because Dylan there is supposed to be, like, super hot, what with the blue hair and mis-matched eyes. But then you have Lochlann up there, and...damn. You may have to rethink your image there, Dylan. ;P
I was sort of feeling a little bad about the fact that I had told @anijeltaventry that I would do design pictures of her characters, and yet, I didn’t have the drive to actually go through with it, at least not until last night. I was looking at her character files, and sort of thinking about how I would go about drawing them, and...yeah.
Now mind, these aren’t exactly like the references she gave me, but somehow, I don’t think she’ll mind too much. ^^; (Not sure if Lachlann would actually wear skinny jeans, but based on his outfit designs as well as his hair style, he struck me as the sort that would. Plus, ya know, Hades was wearing skinny jeans in his design and yes, I stole the jacket from Hades. :P)
I actually kept picturing Lachlann with black hair thanks to the reference, but found out he was auburn, and let me tell you, wow. I approve! Look at him! Even with my not-that-great beard...thing he has going on, he looks great! Definitely looks like an Irish punk. ;P
Maeve, on the other hand...well, I was sort of basing her hair off her reference, then I accidentally made a wave to follow her one swoosh bang there, and...I don’t care if it’s right or not, this is hair hair now, okay? Look at it! She looks so perfect and pretty and I love it! I;m not sure if her boots should be matching her shirt there, but it didn’t look right otherwise. She pulls it together well.
I don’t think @anijeltaventry planned on her wearing tights, but I thought it would look odd with Lochlann in heavy clothes and Maeve in summery clothes (although I’m sure that’s probably the case), so I added them to give the sense that it’s a bit colder in his story. And I think it works incredibly well! But that’s just me.
In any case, I did these (you totally deserve all the art you get, so don’t say otherwise!), and now I don’t feel like a bad friend. ON TO ALL THE ART NOW!
I am on this project week as I want to educate myself free of the constraints of classroom case-study speculation (bound to half-page of textbooks). I suppose I’m on this project week to live and construct my own case study.
A general email arrived in my inbox a month or so ago mentioning the desire to examine the Nordic Utopia. No idea of an alternative, I leapt at the opportunity to join a promising group (Ane, Isabella, Aru, Jule) on their project immediately with a “I am very interested.” Isabella eventually responded in the positive, and I now find myself typing this sentence on a cosy couch overlooking Oslo.
Norway fascinates me. I have always regarded it as a benign country that ought to be a model for sustainable development. That’s my kind of ‘running perception’ of the socialistically stellar spine that hangs off of Europe. It’s the image I’d refer to were it brought up in conversation or heated debate- the sloppy definition scrawled on the whiteboard by a teacher that I copied down but never bothered to refine.
Norway
[nawr-way] (n.) A very wealthy country with blond people, oil, a balance between isolation from and connection to the rest of the world, lots of culture I think, and alcohol, it’s very long and therefore must have a great variance in climate, culture and economy, borders Finland and Sweden I think, probably Russia somewhere too, there’s a monarchy but they don’t do anything, highest Human Development index in the world, highest GDP per capita in the world, quite a few suicides, lots of snow, politically stable but a bit bland in that department I think, lots of money for everyone who lives there, bloody expensive, on the right side of history, norsemen and associated mythology came from there and so did my name, and so did Henrik Ibsen, they have something to do with the Nobel Peace Prize as well.
I am driven to take part in this project to a) revel in the comfort that a Norwegian household and society will afford me for one week and b) update this page of my encyclopaedia.
