Narendra Modi said we must not restrict our lives only around coronavirus during his address to the nation on Tuesday, the fourth phase of the nationwide coronavirus announced-triggered lockdown. Modi said, “Lockdown 4.0, the fourth phase of lockdown will be a new face and new rules.”
After the interaction with 30 Chief Minister by the Modi, many of them pitched for extending lockdown beyond May 17. Narendra Modi cleared during the address that the contours of Lockdown 4.0 will be completely different from the three other lockdowns in the past. The State will have to pay a far bigger role in Lockdown 4.0 than in the past.
Modi said “We have to protect ourselves and move ahead as well, this is an unparalleled crisis. Also added that coronavirus will be part of our lives for a long time as per told by scientist “…but, we can’t let our lives revolve around it only,”
Yesterday in the Chief Minister’s conference Modi's new format seeks to strike a balance between life and livelihood in sync with he said: “Jan Se Jag Tak” which means (From People to the World). When the first lockdown was announced on March 24, the PM said “Jaan hai toh Jahan hai”, which later qualified with “Jaan Bhi, Jahan Bhi”.
In the speech of Tuesday, the PM announces a special economic package. This will play an important role in the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’. A total of 20 lakh crore economic package for the COVID-19 crisis has been decided to give for the start-ups which are nearly 10 percent of GDP.
Also, there is a special economic package for our laborers, farmers, honest taxpayers, SMEs, and cottage industry.
In this critical situation and crisis, local suppliers have met our demands and needs. Indians have to support local shops by being ‘vocal about local’ and buy products from them, the PM said. The country didn’t produce any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and very few N-95 masks before COVID-19 but now it manufactured two lakh of each every day.
To belong in India, making India self-reliant is the only way to make the 21st century. India’s self-reliance addresses concerns about the world’s happiness, cooperation, and peace,” PM Modi told the nation and also adding that there were five pillars to make India self-reliant. Economy, infrastructure, system-based on technology, demography, and demand.
There will be an increase and meet the demand, every stakeholder in the supply chain which contributes to make India a leading force, the PM said. Prime Minister Modi said that land, labor, liquidity, and laws would be a focus under the economic package. “The middle-class who pay their taxes responsibly, for the ones who are fighting assiduously, for the industries, the Economic package is for them only,” he added.
There is a concern for the whole world’s happiness, cooperation, and peace for India’s self-reliance.
“In a world that is fighting with death, India's medicines today bring new hope and for this, every Indian feels proud,” he added.
