Do you think Amo and Rudo will end up together in the manga? I think they will, because Amo means love and her gaol is to find some one to love her and Rudo lost some he had a big crush on. Too the watchmansieres can only be used by someone that "hole" in the heart. So it logical if they come together, it would be a perfect charcter develop.

if rudo is going to end up with anyone by the end of the series, amo is the only option that makes sense to me narratively and also kinda logically. taking my shipper goggles off and putting my analysis ones on, amo’s character seems designed to be a good counter + balance to rudo and considering just how much page time they’ve been given, their connection is being made like… known. basically you don’t have to really read to much into it to recognize that their dynamic is important to the story.

in general, rudo and amo are also the only characters i can see having a “married with kids” type of story conclusion cuz family and human connection is so important to both. all this being said, i also think both can get very satisfying conclusions without overtly ending up together, but if they were to end up with anyone, at this point each other is all i can imagine lol

how does your parent rudoamo au work? have you made a timeline for it or something like that?

ahhhhh time to share cuz someone finally asked lol

so this au takes place in a future where rudo brings down the sphere and the ground + sphere unify to create a normal surface/the redevelopment and healing of the ground from pollution becomes the main priority going forward. anima and givers still exist but trash beasts don’t due to pollution finally being combated and the cleaners now exist to combat pollution and help guide the unification of the ground + sphere, turning rudo into a kind of ambassador/delegate (rudo is a very important figure, even if reluctantly)

basic timeline is the rudo and amo are young parents. atlus is born when they are 19-20ish after they run off to go be young people exploring and turn back up at HQ with a baby on their hip. them being young parents just makes sense to me cuz they have their own goals and stuff but having a family would be so important to them that if they ended up with a baby they’d be like oh shit guess we are doing this. there’s a big gap between atlus and blossom because i can see them struggling to have more kids for a number of reasons (health and outside factors) so atlus is their only kid for around a decade until they are like 30 and amo gets pregnant with blossom. canan coms very shortly after and by that point rudo and amo are pretty settled into a relatively peaceful life with rudo having to occasionally do important government things

even outside of a shipping context Amo and rudo don’t just compliment each other writing wise but in Everything even down to their designs

amo is triangle, rudo is upside down triangle. amo big boots, rudo big gloves. dark hair that ombres light, light had that ombres dark. she swan, he frog. even how amo is straight hair but frilly flowy outfits while rudo is a fluffy dog wearing very utilitarian clothes,,, they suit each other so much i want them to live a long happy life

What's really sad is that "made for each other" is somehow "bad" to say. And yet everyone keeps writing soulmate fics... But if we look at it not as "characters are real people and every story owes the reader good representation" isn't it so beautiful that Urana went into the booth and decided to write a great love story.

something i feel pretty strongly about is that gachiakuta is not inherently an assemble story. there’s a lot of characters yes but at the end of the day rudo is the protagonist and the narrative revolves around him, so in turn the characters that get the most development are ones that are linked to him in one way or another (don’t misunderstand this as me saying no other characters have development, but what it means is that the more closely associated to rudo, the more development a character is gonna get)

and much like how enjin or gountess are written as older guiding lights to rudo, amo serves to help enrich rudo’s emotional depth. she is kind and understanding where rudo is rough but well meaning. her personality is so well balanced with rudo’s that it has to be intentional on the author’s part. and even all that aside, the visuals of the two are just so well suited. like making your wolf protagonist have a sheep eyed girl whom he’s attached to? that’s metal.

amo herself is such an interesting, rich character that i could talk about forever, i just wish it was…easier(?) to discuss and accept that she can also be analyzed in the context of rudo’s emotional journey and story. as a life long romantic subplot enjoyer, it’s always bothered me how readers/viewers have this habit of treating romance as something that devalues a character thus needs to be disregarded. it’s such an immature, distasteful way to read a clearly thought out story

the “i refuse to ship girls a man because girls are so much better [exclusively ships yaoi]” or “why don’t we just ship the female love interests together that stupid male mc doesn’t deserve them!!! [ships mc with another man and never speaks about the female characters ever]” is a tale as old as time atp.

i’ve legit seen people say they don’t/can’t examine deeper/darker facets of rudo’s character bc he doesn’t have a yaoi pairing as if amo means nothing or their characters aren’t worthy of deeper analysis unless it’s to serve yaoi specifically. and no “omg amo so strong how can anyone hate her please give me 5k likes now” is not being actually invested in her character. a lot of the stuff people headcanon (or treat like canon atp) about jabber are things that have legit basis in amo’s story but ppl don’t wanna talk about her in any deeper or darker context so they give it all to jabber and then tack amo onto him as his little sister side kick and don’t do any further thought on whether or not any of that actually makes sense for amo (or even jabber lbr. but the blank slate, let’s ignore his character post trash storm -ification of jabber is a different story)

you’ll have to give me more direction anon cuz my amo analysis can go in 12 different directions depending on what we wanna focus on. amo the healer? amo the embodiment of love and life in a wasteland aka amo the persephone figure? amo: rage, forgiveness, and making peace? how amo is a parallel of rudo but also a reflection of the main 4 of akuta and expose their faults and vulnerabilities? the fandom’s relationship with amo vs her role is the narrative?

Rumo family hc:

-because of how close they are in age, Blossom and Canan get mistaken for twins often (especially as teens). To remedy this, Blossom will loudly emphasise that Canan is her BABY brother every time she talks about him.

-while Blossom and Atlus were both velcro kids, always sticking close to their parents when they were young, Canan is the exact opposite and they have to get him a child leash as a toddler because he can and will wander away the moment you take your eyes off him (He's given Enjin many heart attacks by wandering off whenever he's babysat him)

-while all three of them know how to recycle and fix up items, Atlus is the best at it, on par with Rudo, because he always loved spending time with Rudo in his workshop growing up. Even if it was just him sitting quietly doing his homework while Rudo worked.

-Canan got into a fight at school once and it was scariest he's ever seen Amo. She wasn't even that mad at him bc he was the one getting pick on but just seeing how angry she was at the other parents trying to make excuses installed a healthy fear of not pissing off his mom.

-as much as Atlus has a "my dad is lame" faze as a teen, he's actually always secretly happy whenever people say he's like Rudo because he's always looked up to him.

-They have photo albums FULL of baby pictures of all three of their kids. Yes, Amo does show them off whenever any of them bring their friends to the house.

commenting on all of these cuz i’m tired and vaguely emotional:

- blossom has the biggest ego when it comes to being a big sister. she already has a big head because she was rudo and amo’s miracle baby (took 10 years after atlus to get and have another successful pregnancy) AND the only daughter so she’s telling everyone who wants (or doesn’t) to listen that she’s canna’s big sister and she gets to boss him around cuz that’s what big sisters do and no she doesn’t care that it’s only a ~11 month gap between them

- atlus biggest velcro kid in the world. until age 7 he got distressed if rudo or amo tried to separate from him. getting him to school for the first time was a challenge for them all (amo burst out into tears which made atlus cry which made rudo almost cry). canan on the other hand went “yay school bye mama see you later” and amo burst out crying. canan is extremely independent and honestly is the most similar to a younger rudo. atlus is a fake idgafer.

- rudo frequently held atlus on his chest while working when he was a baby and atlus tried teething on screwdrivers and wrenches. its a bonding thing that atlus will just chill and sometimes just sit in silence with his dad in his workshop cuz making and fixing things is rudo’s love language

- amo is crazy protective of her babies. she and rudo are the “not strict but protective” types so while she’d prefer canan gets to live and learn, she can’t stand a bully or meanie so she goes apeshit lol

- atlus is called a mamas boy but he’s equally amo and rudo’s. he wants to act like rudo is lame cuz “dad you used to be so cool now you’re so soft what happened to the cool punk” but deep down atlus is really glad he has a caring father who does cool shit but will always put his family first. rudo is his biggest inspiration but he’ll explode before admitting it

- baby photos are so serious for them. amo documents everything and tells people about the first time blossom threw up on her and “i still have the burp cloth” and rudo (when he had to do more people facing diplomatic type work) kept a photo of amo and baby atlus on his desk and would not necessarily talk about them but silently show off like “yeh i have a cool wife and a baby aren’t you jealous”
