Conceptually I’m starting to realize where this album is headed. Ive always loved the idea of a mixtape-where there’s tons of artists and genres. But I’m being drawn to the idea of a mixtape and multiple genres but performed by one person. I’m starting to genre bend a lot and day by day-song by song-take by take-the cohesiveness of this record is drifting away and something is coming fourth in its place. Over the last two days I’ve recorded an electro-ish song, a few acoustic pieces, a few acoustic pieces, and I just layed down something akin to shoegaze. I think I finally see the path ahead on the record. More to record today.
Arrived at “home” around 9pm. Eddie almost ran away as I let him out of the car (he saw a rabbit and bolted). I spent some time setting everything up and getting it ready for sessions. Did a few vocal takes on this hip hop piece I’m working on-but overall pretty drained from the drive. Going to hit the hay here shortly after I pick a few things I want to focus on in the morning.
