Writing this originally got me interested in the dynamic of these three characters in particular, and I’m still obsessed with them. Li is really put through the wringer here. I cannot overstate that.

It made Ung/Na, which was supposed to be incidental for me, into my favorite ship. Something I realized today was that I create a lot of problems for myself by beating around the bush, and couching my words in sarcasm or spleen when that bubbles over, and none of it gets me any closer to my goals.

Regarding fic, I simply can't do it anymore if I'm not going to get feedback. That's just the unembellished truth, I'm a primate and primates require social validation for motivation.

I'm not going to remove my stories and storm off in a huff again, I'm just not going to prioritize re-uploading them or creating new ones because it's been objectively deleterious on my mental health. Never means I won't post anything, but it's not going to be something I put a lot of time into. I deserve to be doing things that make me happy, not a self-flagellating parody of things that once made me happy.

I can only frame this as an input-output thing. If output is desired, I need to have a bit more encouragement. It's that simple, and I see I've made it needlessly dramatic in the past. Just, if you like the stuff, let me know, it waters my crops and will be more likely to result in more stuff. :)

Finally finished rereading "A Failure to Save Face" (my really mean[er than usual] to skekLi fic), woof, that was a bit of a tough read since it hit pretty close to home for me rn (it didn't when I wrote it, lucky me). Nonetheless, time to start the editing and reposting!

Editing this and considering it my keystone point on it, because I have my life to get on with, which involves revisiting all the rest of my fics (those which I personally prefer anyway and which were not subject to this issue), and writing all the new ideas that have taken root in the years since I went on hiatus from Dark Crystal fandom. This issue was egregious and insulting, but it is not a good use of my time.

Truly, it's fine that the author of the GraGoh smut longfic admired my work enough to gain so much inspiration from it; imitation is the sincerest form, blah etc. But it is not fine that my standing up to her needless gaslighting evidently made her dislike me so much as a person, that she felt the need to copy me so much without ever even mentioning me, the need to pass these stolen ideas with porn inserted off as her originality while I was away on hiatus. Fandom etiquette should be well known to anyone in this business over a year, let alone over a decade. I suspect she knows in her heart how badly she's behaved. That's why she sounded so uncomfortable when taking credit for "her" idea about the skeksis' auxiliary arms, not because it was "not canon," but because it was theft. I know it, she knows it, I leave this rancid issue at that.
